Several of us enjoyed a rare opportunity to do some soaring in March this afternoon .
Lift was as predicted by Dr. Jack in the 3- 4 knots average range . The best Tod Herrli and I found was a steady 8 knots in the 5 - 5800msl range !
3 of us took the gliders and towplanes out from the hangar and put them back . It really does require extra care and I would reccomend that whenever possible 4 ( FOUR ) members help with each airplane /glider ( One on each wingtip and one on the tail and nose ) This will prevent the extremities getting too close to other equipment or the sides of the hangar . We have painted the spots on the floor where mainwheels and tailwheels must go ( or be very close to ) Please spread this word .
Cu at the field soon I hope ,
ZA.
