Last week saw two more contest days, on Wednesday and Saturday. Our
away weekend at Marion airport provided a base for some nice contest
flights for six of our pilots. The day started early and it paid off
to leave early and take advantage of the good stuff: witness Ron's
distance and speed. If you left later you could get stuck: witness
flights by Mario and Simpson who had to settle for landing at Indpls
Executive and aerotowing back home just in time for the cookout.
There are still about six more contest weeks left before the end of
October, and although we'll be having shorter days, we can get some
very nice conditions with more frequent cold fronts and dry air. See
you at the field.
