Fwd: Soaring Sunday [!]

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars

Interest is High , so come on out early to get on the list !

It does look like we will be able to fly on Sunday and Lynn Jovce has
kindly offered to tow. I suggest we open the hangar up around 11:30
to get the equipment out . We'll shoot for First Launch around 12:30 .
Please remember we only have one glider and one tow plane on insurance
so no 2 hour long flights !

Fwd: Soaring ( probably gliding ) Sunday ?

From: ZASoars
Looks like some half decent weather on Sunday - maybe 40 degrees and
partly sunny . Anyone interested in making a few flights ? . Let me
know as I know of a tow pilot that is willing and able.

Fwd: Cold but Plenty of Thermals

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars
Wouldn't it be great if we could be up there right now ? And for that
matter yesterday looked good too.
I've just been watching a couple of crows hasseling a Red Tail Hawk
who was trying to thermal above my tree tops . Yesterday as I drove
across the Indiana country side I saw no less than 5 hawks of various
types happily thermalling in the bright sunshine under wisps of cu. My
guess was that there was good lift to 300agl or better .
Seems to me this kind of January weather must be the kind that Hawks
really enjoy .
Surely this is a sign of good times to come . CU at the field soon !

Top Left: Mariachi playing the wedding song for the newlyweds.
Top Right: Dale dancing with mother-in-law (you HAVE to.)
Bottom Left: The "dead man" is paraded around.
Bottom Right: Those are Dale's feet, and that's my son holding them up.

Severe Weather Spotter Training

Since we're all obsessive about the weather, and it's not flying season, why not take two hours and attend a National Weather Service severe weather spotter training class? The schedule of upcoming sessions in Indiana is here.
