Fwd: New Years Day SOARING - latest

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars
CISS Members ,

We definitely plan to fly on Thursday ( January 1 , 2009 ) .

Bob Currie and Lynn Joyce have volunteered to tow and we have one
Blanik ( 809S ) and one Tow plane ( 87Z ) available and insured for
use.

At this time the weather looks OK . Not warm ( maybe 40 for a high )
and a little windy ( 10 + out of the South ) . Cloud cover may be 50 %
+ .

If you would like to fly plan to be at the field by 11am to help get
the aircraft and equipment out for a through inspection before flying
which hopefully will be before or around noon. Remember to dress warm
- no shorts please Brad it makes us all feel cold !

Happy New Year and a GREAT SOARING SEASON to all .

Fwd: Maintenance update

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars

Due to the less than great weather this week we have not yet been able
to arrange to have the gliders "annualled " .We therefore have no
plans for a work party this coming Saturday.

Our plan remains to get the annuals done before the end of the year
which will allow those really keen members that like to make their
first flights of the New Year on Jan 1 to do so .

However if you really want to spend time at the " Field of Dreams "
this Saturday you might like to take along your plumbing tools and a
towel for the shower ! The Plumbing Crowd are making great progress
installing the new "club shower " and maybe your help will move the
job to completion . Call Taylor / De Witt / Melin / Saunders to find
out if they need help !

The Maintenance Crew.

Fwd: A JOB WELL DONE - THANK YOU

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars

To all the club members who generously gave of their time to help with
the winter maintenance projects this Nov / Dec we say many thanks .

Your dedication to helping get the club equipment cleaned up and ready
for their "Annual Inspections " really does help the club keep costs
down . Hopefully also you have learned a little about what the inside
of a flying machine looks like and appreciate what it takes to keep
the equipment in good condition.
Unfortunately not much flying was done these past weekends but the
hangar talk seemed to fill in at least part of the need to be around
gliders together with other flying types . Lunch each week, after
CFIG Nyal gave the OK to drop tools for that break , was we know the
highlight of the day for many !

This year has been about as good as it gets in terms of help - we
really appreciate every one of you fine club members .

The Maintenance Crew.

ps. As most of the work is now done and only some re-assembly of seat
pans etc. is needed after the inspections take place we will send out
an advisory about if there will be a work party next Saturday -
assuming we can arrange the inspections for early that day - check you
email.

Fwd: Maintenance this month of December

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars
Many thanks to the " Regulars" who have come out each Saturday to help us get the club equipment ready for the ' 09 soaring season.

Our plan is to finish up what work we can do on the club equipment in the coming 3 weekends to be able to get the gliders "annualled" before year end . The tow planes will be inspected in the new year .

This weekend the plan is to replace the brake linings on one of the Blaniks and then move the last two gliders (PW 5 / 809S) into the hangar for work Dec 13 and 20 .

As the weather looks marginal this weekend , and as we won't need such a large crowd of helpers to work on the Blanik Brakes feel free to " take a break " yourself this Saturday December (6th) . BUT please remember we need a good turnout on the 13 th and maybe also on the 20th .The maintenance crew will be at the field this Saturday in any event and if you have already scheduled to come out feel free to do so!

Thanks again ,

The Maintenance Crew.
