Soaring Safety Foundation Wing Runner Course

At the airport recently there has been a lot of conversation about the Soaring Safety Foundation course for Wing Runners. This is an excellent course for anyone helping with launching gliders and best of all it is free. It is also highly recommended for glider pilots who may not be running wings.

If you would like to take advantage of this valuable training, just go to the following link:

http://www.soaringsafety.org/school/wingrunner/toc.htm

Click on the various modules and study the material.

This program was developed jointly by the CAP and the SSF. When you click on the Final Exam after studying the modules, you will see the following. Just click on the small, hard to find ..
SSA Members Click here link just to the left of the NEXT button. Do not worry about the CAP stuff. Just avoid it and leave it blank.

You will then see the following dialog box:
Select the Wing Runner Test in the top drop down box.
Put your name in the second box. Click Next and take the test.

After completing the test, print out your certificate and proudly post a copy on the bulletin board in the office at the airport.

Rumor has it that glider pilots tend to give large tips to certificated wing runners.

Good luck!
