Fwd: Wednesday Soaring Report

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: ZASoars

On the first post election day ( Guy Fawkes day in the land of the
Great Pale faced Queen ) the conditions were exceptional ( for
November ) . Three of us lucky devils flew ( George in the PW and Nyal
and I in the Grob )
Dr Jack obviously had not heard that Indiana is now " Blue" but with
amazingly strong thermals for the low sun angle . We found better lift
than he forecast . The ground is of course very dry and the odd farmer
is still harvesting and stirring up the air with big equipment . Nyal
and I used such a location several times to connect low level with a
thermal that saved us . Tops were 3700msl and the scenery spectacular
.
Keep looking ahead for some post frontal days during the next 4 weeks
I think they will be the best bet .
Also don't forget the maintenance crew welcomes any and all help on
Saturday mornings so that the club equipment will be ready for the
next season .

PS. Thanx to Bob Currie for towing - he's now working on his 4000 tow goal .
